It's reported that Colombia has issued three separate antidumping (AD) duty probes on certain steel imports including wire rods, rebar and steel section from Turkey, according to the Turkish Steel Exporters' Association (CIB).
It's learned that the mentioned products accounted for 73.9% of total steel exports made to Colombia in the first seven months of this year.
The CIB stated that Turkey exported 86,374 tons of steel products to Colombia with export value of US$59.2 million in the first seven months of 2012. However, Turkey's export volumes and values to Colombia slumped 69.6% and 68.6% year on year respectively in the first seven months of this year.
Thus, Nam?k Ekinci, the chairman of the CIB believes that Turkey will not be included in the investigation after the preliminary evaluations.
Meanwhile, the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers of the products under investigation are 7216.21, 7214.9,1 7216.50, 7213.10 and 7214.20.
